Honest Hotel Review of the Holiday Inn & Suite's Near Disney World & Universal!

If you're looking to save money on your next Orlando trip by staying off property let me tell you about the nearby Holiday Inn & Suites at 12005 Regency Village Drive, Orlando, FL 32821. Just 15 minutes from Universal Studios, and 16 minutes from Disney World this hotel is in the perfect location for park hopping, not to mention outlet shopping because it's directly next to the Orlando Premium Outlets. This hotel has great reviews online and was $100 for the night when I stayed with no extra charges for parking.

When I travel to Orlando I am focused 100% on the theme parks, I like to make the most of my day and my hotel is just for recharging my battery before I hit the parks again the next day. My focus of this review is specifically on the rooms, not the resort as a whole. So when I review a hotel I look at 10 things:

  1. Check In/Service

  2. Parking

  3. Convenience

  4. Feeling of Safety

  5. Beds!

  6. Outlets

  7. AIR CONDITIONING!

  8. Bathrooms

  9. Cleanliness

  10. Extra Amenities

Each category can get up to 10 points, with the maximum points for a hotel being 100. So let's dive in!

Check In/Service - 10/10

When checking in there was ample space to park right outside the lobby, the lobby was quiet and the employee at the front desk was very friendly. The check in process was very quick and smooth. There was ample seating and a public TV in the lobby, along with a small open restaurant in the back. Next to the front desk there was a sign noting that sensory bags are available upon request, I absolutely loved this and even asked the employee about it to see what the sensory bag contained. She advised that there were noise cancelling head phones, and some sensory toys.

Parking - 10/10

There was ample parking available around the entire building. There was a huge section for compact cars, and the parking lot was very well lit. Despite the fact that it was about midnight when I parked that night I was still able to park close to the back door directly near the elevators. As a single woman traveling I felt comfortable unloading my car and walking through the parking lot.

Convenience - 10/10

The location of the hotel was very convenient to visit both the Disney and Universal Parks. There are many food places nearby, as well as gas stations, and grocery stores. I was on the 3rd floor and it took my very little time to get to my room. Partially thanks to the convenient parking I previously discussed, the elevator was easy to access and clearly well maintained. The hallways were not excessively long, and were surprisingly quiet.

Safety - 10/10

As a woman who frequently travels alone the feeling of safety in a hotel is very important to me. I want to reiterate that the parking lot was well lit, and the hallways were quiet. The doors to the room were thick and I appreciate that the dead bolt locked with a comfortingly loud click. The room itself was also very quiet. There was no area under the bed, and the room was well lit upon entering.

Beds - 8/10

These beds were relatively comfortable as far as hotel beds go. They were not the standard rock solid hotel mattress, which my back was eternally grateful for. The pillows were large and comfortable.

Outlets - 10/10

This hotel had the most and best outlets of any hotel I have ever stayed at. The three outlets and 2 USB ports that can be seen at the back of this bedside table were available on both sides of the bed, as well as two additional outlets just like this on the TV stand. As well as various outlets on the walls around the room. All of the outlets were functioning and tight fitting for a standard charger. As someone who brings several devices when I travel I appreciated these superior outlets so much. In total there were 17 outlets, and 10 USB ports.

Air Conditioning - 10/10

The Florida heat is no joke, after spending a full day in any of the theme parks a cool hotel room is essential for comfort. The room was set at a cozy degree's and as I turned it down to my preferred temperature the room further cooled off very quickly, and remained cool throughout the entire night.

Bathrooms - 9/10

The bathrooms were well maintained and very clean. There was a lot of towels for one person staying one night. The water pressure in the shower was good and heated very quickly.

There was lotion, shampoo, conditioner, and two bars of soap provided. They all smelled good, and were decent quality. The only product I was not a fan of was the conditioner. It was very thin and didn't seem to actually condition my hair at all.

Cleanliness - 10/10

The room, and bathroom was flawlessly clean. I found not hairs, no dust, no stains. The mini fridge and microwave were also very clean. The entire hotel was clearly well maintained.

Extra Amenities

I added two points for the mini fridge, I prefer my hotel rooms to come with a fridge. As far as hotel mini fridge's go this one was a bit larger than most. I added an additional point for the microwave, it's a fantastic option to have both a fridge and a microwave if you have leftovers.

I gave an additional point for the laundry bag in the closet, I appreciated the gesture, as someone who normally brings an extra bag just for this, it is nice to have a hotel provide one should I have forgotten.

Yet another point was given for the sensory rooms available for any guests who needed a safe and calming environment. I have never experienced a hotel having sensory rooms before and thought this was such a thoughtful touch.

Finally, one extra point was added just for overall vibes. I loved staying at this hotel and would most definitely stay again. My overall score was a 93/100.
