Disney Food Review : Tony's Town Square Restaurant!

You can never go wrong with Italian! Whether you're looking for a Romantic Lady and the Tramp style meal, or dinning with friends and family you'll find you're in exactly the right place. Right on Main Street U.S.A. you can easily score a reservation for this charming trattoria. Before we get started I have to shamelessly plug myself for just a sentence, it is a goal of mine to eat at every restaurant on Walt Disney World Property, if you're a Disney Foodie too make sure you subscribe to my blog to come along for the ride! Now, let's dive in and discuss what makes Tony's Town Square Restaurant so special.

Themed after the 1955 classic Disney movie Lady and the Tramp, Tony's Town Square Restaurant is where they had their first kiss over a plate of Spaghetti and Meatballs.

While the theming is undoubtedly charming the real star is the food! Going in I had heard mixed reviews, and as this is one of the easiest reservations to get on property, often even allowing for walk-in service I had low expectations going in, but was hopeful because it's hard to go wrong with Italian!

Despite being a little weary I knew I wanted to try as much as possible! Starting with Tony's Garlic Bread.

The description on the menu reads "Toasted Ciabatta with Roasted Garlic-Butter and Parmesan Fonduta" and this bread was every ounce as delicious as it looks! Presentation alone had my mouth watering! The bread the perfect combination of crisp crust and soft buttery bread. A symphony of butter, garlic, and herbs, the only thing better then this garlic bread itself; was this garlic bread dipped in the fonduta cheese dip! A solid, I say again SOLID 10/10!

Along with the garlic bread I got the Fried Mozzarella with Spicy Creamy Tomato Sauce. There were undoubtedly the biggest mozzarella sticks I've ever seen! Breaking the first one the cheese pull was excellent. The ratio of breading to cheese was superb, and the marinara sauce had just the right amount of spice. At this point of my meal I was in cheese and bread heaven (if actual heaven doesn't have cheese and bread I don't want it!). All doubts I had about Tony's swiftly faded away as I thoroughly enjoyed these appetizers.

For my entrée I ordered the Fettuccine Alfredo, it was served with a choice of Roasted Chicken or Shrimp and tossed with Fettuccine in a Parmesan Cream Sauce. The fettuccine was cooked to perfection and the sauce was ample and flavorful. The shrimp were succulent and had just the right amount of parmesan garnishing. While this was a solid dish, I did not feel like it was superior to any other fettuccine alfredo I've had at Olive Garden. The only difference between this alfredo and Olive Garden's is this one had half the shrimp for twice the price! What I'm trying to say it, was it good? Yes. Would I eat it again? Yes. Would I come to Tony's just for this Alfredo, absolutely not.

As if I didn't already have way to much food I added a side of the crispy parmesan potatoes. The first bite was delicious, but unfortunately the more I ate the less I liked it. Some of the bites were great, packed with flavor, others were large chunks of potato with very little seasoning, and others were really just like straight seasoning to the point where it was overwhelming. These naturally come with the oven-roasted shrimp scampi, so just a heads up if you decide to order that dish.

What's a meal without dessert? Despite being extremely full and having a box full of leftovers I decided I had just enough room for dessert. The gelato flavors available change seasonally but for my visit there was only chocolate and vanilla available to of course I went with the vastly superior chocolate. While it was very good, both rich and creamy; I'd say you're better off spending your $7 on a Mickey Ice Cream bar because this was run of the mill gelato. A nice ending to an overall fantastic meal, but not particularly impressive.

All in all I thoroughly enjoyed Tony's Town Square Restaurant! I spent a total of $68.43 before tip, the service was fantastic, and the food came out super fast. I would definitely eat here again and highly recommend it if you're looking for some place to sit down and have a nice meal at Magic Kingdom.
